This semester's volunteer orientation will be held Sunday, October 4 from 5 to 8 PM (location TBD). At this event, volunteers will learn how after school programs at William D'Abate and Asa Messer Elementary Schools operate, both from experienced students and staff from the D'Abate Community School.

In addition, volunteers will receive mandatory child abuse sensitivity training from Dilania Inoa, Coordinator of Elementary School Programs at the Swearer Center.

In order for a PSO group to take one of the Swearer Center Vans to their elementary school each week, at least one member of the group needs to get trained and certified to drive the Swearer Center vans. In order to become certified, you need to take one of the training sessions, which take place October 5, 6, 7, and 8 at Noon at the Swearer Center. After taking the hour-long training, you'll be given the address for an online test you must pass in order to be allowed to drive the van.
